I am Carmen Davis, a wife, mother of 2 daughters, Doula, Reflexologist and Reiki Practitioner in Houston, Texas.
As the oldest of five children, I was around a lot of babies growing up. My mom had my two youngest siblings at home with Midwives which really opened my eyes to the world of natural birth and midwifery. I knew I wanted to use Midwives for my own births. Both of my daughters were born at birth centers with Midwives. Although I had wonderful care during my births, I always wished I had a Doula!
I decided to become a Doula because I believe how women give birth matters. If you talk to an older woman in her 80s or 90s about her births, she can probably recall them in great detail. How we are treated and cared for during our labor and delivery stays with us for the rest of our lives. I love helping women have the best birth experience possible.
As a Doula, I can’t guarantee outcomes, but I do promise to be with you every step of the way! I would love to work with you whether you deliver in a hospital, birth center or at home.
In 2019 I began a program to become a Holistic Reproductive Practitioner through By The Moon, Holistic School. I love birth work but I realized the pre-conception and postpartum periods are just as important as the pregnancy and birth. I am a certified Reflexologist and Reiki pracititioner specializing in fertility, maternity and postpartum care. I have additional training in holistic fertility support, birth trauma healing and pregnancy loss.
I love a good fictional novel. I also enjoy cooking, sipping champagne or margaritas, traveling, Lake Michigan, cuddling our pups Milo and Nelly, doing yoga and pilates and spending time with my family.
